Planet Pizza 2006

Benton County Farm Bureau takes time at the end of March to talk with the county's third grade classes about pizza.  Why pizza?  Because while most kids eat pizza, not all understand the role of the farmer in bring this pizza to the table.

Students watch a video that explains, through a created telecast of very young reporters, where all the parts of a pizza come from and how all of the ingredients are grown by farmers.  After the video, kids are able to eat what they have learned.  Thank you to all the BCFB volunteers who went out to the classrooms, the teachers for making time in their day for this presentation, and the area pizza makers for opening up a bit early on these days to provide pizza for the classrooms.
